Our Team

Ivo is responsible for Genie implementation and training and leads on our research projects. He has an extensive experience in the research and use of network approaches to support people who are marginalised, socially isolated, or live with long-term conditions. Ivo has co-led all aspects of Genie development, including research, implementation and evaluation.

Ivo is also an Associate Professor in Health Science, University of Southampton.

Dr Ivaylo Vassilev

Research and Implementation Lead

Simon leads all aspect of business activities for Genie. He is responsible for the commercial and contractual elements of implementation. Simon has worked as a research scientist in human performance and run human and health sciences businesses. He is passionate about healthtech innovation and supports several clinician-led organisations to drive improvements across the health and social care sector.

Simon also mentors on the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur programme.

Simon Wickes

Business Lead

Sandy is responsible for public patient involvement for Genie promoting engagement in the tool and helping refine its design to meet user feedback. Sandy initiated the filming of activities on Genie to improve engagement, developing guidance and instructional documentation. Sandy is trained trainer and facilitator for Genie, specialising in people with Type 1 Diabetes, mental health problems or loneliness. She has also led the implementation and use of Genie on the Isle of Wight.

PPI Lead

Anne is an advisor on the development and implementation of Genie. She has broad ranging expertise and published widely in health services research. Anne has a specific interest in the self-management of long-term conditions, the development and use of patient-centred information, patient and public involvement in research, and theories of implementing evidence-based interventions in the health service and in people’s every-day lives. Anne has co-led all aspects of Genie development including research, implementation, evaluation and software design.
